The Covid-19 pandemic affected hard the workers’ protection systems not only from the point of view of the health of workers but also because of the closure of so many industrial and commercial enterprises. As a result, this social security sector was deeply involved in an unprecedented crisis.
In such a scenario, the Italian workers’ compensation authority was called to play a fundamental role in managing the emergency. Between the most difficult activities to carry on in order to have a quick and detailed knowledge of the new circumstances, was to give detailed regulations on how to protect the workers’ health at the work places and how to collect specific Covid-19 related data on the population of injured workers.
The presentation ends with a focus on the “lessons learned”, showing some techniques on how to manage, read and adjust this data with an in-depth study of some features of the population of injured workers during the peaks of the spread.
